Gaining and spending Stars[]

Stars are a very useful form of currency in Tunnel Town, used to purchase rare bunnies and to speed up breeding between two bunnies on the Dance Floor. It's best not to waste them in large quantities unless the player has the kind of money to buy them.

To get more stars, instead of buying, one can take advantage of the "Free Stars!" feature. Every 5 minutes, there should be a button at the top of the screen to watch a short ad, and when it's finished, the player will receive 1 Star for free. It's not hard to get into the habit of watching ads frequently to start saving up stars. (Note that the "Free Stars!" feature might not appear anymore for some users - WildWorks may have removed the feature entirely.)

Stars can also be gained by logging into the game every day; after 5 days of logging in, the player will be rewarded 3 Star. The player should make sure to log in and collect their reward every day in order to recieve these stars every 5 days.

The most productive way to spend stars is to use them to speed up breeding, as opposed to buying bunnies. For example, if the player is trying to get an Albino Bunny but keeps getting Prairie Bunnies and Chinchilly Bunnies, they can use stars to speed up the breeding and start another mating attempt right away. It's a lot cheaper to spend 1 Star to speed up a Prairie Bunny or 3 Star to speed up a Chinchilly Bunny than it is to use 2500 Star to get an Albino Bunny right away.

Purple Carrots[]

Another productive way to spend stars is growing purple carrots. Purple carrots only cost 1 Star, meaning the "Free Stars!" feature is especially useful here. While Purple carrots can be used to give bunnies 50 energy, they are much more useful for XP - each gives 1000 Xp, by far the most out of any food. Because of their high XP value, feeding a single purple carrot to any level 1 bunny will instantly upgrade it to level 5. Purple carrots are useful for upgrading bunnies past level 5 as well.

Growing Food[]

Food can provide energy, XP, and gems, and it is best to be growing food at all times. Certain foods such as carrots and green leaf lettuce can be repeatedly grown to quickly gain energy, XP, or gems. It is not the must fun method, as it requires near-constant attention, but it is faster and more efficient than growing slower foods like pumpkins.

Here are the best foods to grow for different purposes:

  • Energy: Carrots are the most efficient food to grow for energy. One carrot restores 2 energy, takes only 30 seconds to grow, and does not cost any gems. With 10 garden plots unlocked, this provides 20 Energy every 30 seconds, or 40 Energy per minute.
  • Player XP: Green leaf lettuce is the most efficient food to grow for player XP. Harvesting one green leaf lettuce will reward the player with 4 Xp. With 10 garden plots unlocked, this provides 40 Xp per minute.
  • Bunny XP: Either carrots or green leaf lettuce can be used for bunny XP, as they are equally efficient. With 10 garden plots unlocked, both will provide 100 Xp per minute.
  • Gems: Green leaf lettuce is the most efficient food to grow in order to gain gems. One green leaf lettuce can be sold for 25 Gems; considering their growing cost of 5 Gems, this means there is a net profit of 20 Gems. With 10 garden plots unlocked, growing and selling lettuce provides 200 Gems per minute.

Leveling Up Bunnies[]

Leveling up all bunnies to level 10 should be the player's goal in late-game, as level 10 bunnies will mine faster and leveling up bunnies is required for certain goals. However, this process can be extremely slow. There are a couple ways to do this quicker:

As previously mentioned, Purple Carrots are an extremely efficient food for gaining XP. A total of 25 Purple Carrots are needed to upgrade a bunny from level 1 to level 10. Doing this can be costly, and is not advised unless one is willing to spend a lot of stars.

If the player would rather save their stars, and has the time and gems to spare, they can buy carrots, green leaf lettuce, and radishes in bulk from McFluffin's Market. 99 food of one type can be bought at once, then fed to a bunny to provide a large amount of XP. This takes patience, as feeding 99 food to a bunny over and over is very tedious, but it is actually fairly quick once you get the hang of it. While buying/feeding food, the player should also grow Carrots or Green Leaf Lettuce in the garden to provide more food and slightly speed up the process.

Buying 99 carrots costs 4950 Gems and gives 495 Xp. Buying 99 green leaf lettuce costs 11385 Gems and gives 990 Xp. Buying 99 radishes costs 29700 Gems and gives 2475 Xp. Carrots are the most cost-efficient of these, while also the slowest; radishes are the fastest, while more costly. Other foods can be used, but this is not recommended since the cost is very inefficient.

Alternatively, the player can simply grow carrots or green leaf lettuce in the garden rather than buying from the market. This is slower, since the food has to grow, but also much cheaper.

Mining[]

To get the best outcome from mining, it's best to put the bunnies of highest level and of quicker mining rates to work, such as Toucan, Chameleon, Miner 49'er, and Luck. (Mining rates are detailed on the Gems page). Level 10 Luck Bunnies are the best miners in the entire game, so it's best to use those to mine better crystals, such as the diamond.

Gem Farming[]

If a Dance Floor is available for this, gems can be obtained quickly by breeding two valuable bunnies together, and then selling off the offspring. Good combinations to use are Albino + Albino or Angler + Angler, since these two bunnies sell for the most gems (50,000 Gems).

Energy-Restoring Furniture[]

Though food may be the quickest way to restore energy, it requires constant attendance to harvest food and feed bunnies. Furniture can be used instead when the player is offline or already growing food. There is variety of furniture that can be used for this, some faster or cheaper than others.

The most cost-efficient furniture is Bean Bags, as they cost only 350 Gems and can fit 3 bunnies at a time while regaining around 3.5 Energy per hour. However, Bean Bags regain energy slower than other furniture, meaning they are only useful in early game when the player cannot afford much furniture.

A slightly faster method is using Standard Beds. Standard Beds regain about 4.5 Energy per hour and cost only 1000 Gems each. This is also useful in early game, due to the somewhat cheap cost, but the beds will take up more space.

Once the player has gems to spare and has unlocked better items in McFluffin's Market, the much quicker method is to use other furniture items. The Pirate Bed is the fastest of these, but also very expensive, costing 25,000 Gems each.
Some expensive energy-restoring items (such as the TV or Fireplace), despite their cost, are actually slower than Standard Beds for regaining energy. The items listed below are the only ones faster than Standard Beds:

Goals[]

Money-Wasting Goals[]

If a goal requires buying an item that is not needed/wanted, the best thing for the player to do is to buy it either way, if they have enough gems. Once the goal is completed, they can then recycle the item. With the gem reward from the goal, the player will end up with more gems than they started with, and will gain XP as well.

Flooring, Wallpaper, or Pipe Goals[]

For any goal that requires using flooring, wallpaper, or pipes a certain amount of times, the goal can actually be completed without spending anything. Placing and then removing decoration will still count towards the goal, and will give the player all of their money back as soon as the decoration is removed. The player can simply place, remove, and repeat until the goal is finished.

Digging Goals[]

Instead of having to wait until you complete Dig goals, the player can dig parts of the burrow that they are not using, then fill them in, then dig them again, and so on until the goal is complete. 40 tiles can be dug at once, so the player should use a space that is at least 40 tiles in order to complete the goal faster. Only the topmost dirt layer should be used for this if possible, as other layers will tire out bunnies faster.

Miscellaneous tips[]

  • Leveling up bunnies to level 5 or higher will increase the chances for breeding rarer bunnies. Purple Carrots are an essential for this, as they're great for leveling up bunnies fast.
  • Rather than searching around the burrow while wanting to do something at the same time, the player can instead make sure there is extra space between rooms. This will trap the bugs in one place, and the closer the bug is to a room, the easier it is to tap on while doing something else.
